Founder & Leader

CAN Naada is a premier Sri Lankan music band that has taken the Canadian musical landscape by storm since its founding in April 2024. The band quickly captured the hearts of the Sri Lankan community through a signature blend of exceptional musicianship, pristine sonic quality, and soulful acoustic arrangements. From massive cultural concerts to elegant dinner dances, CAN Naada travels coast to coast across Canada including major highlights in Toronto and Vancouver and is frequently trusted to back legendary Sri Lankan music icons on the Canadian stage.

The driving creative force behind the band is its founder and leader, Tiran Yapa, an accomplished Sri Lankan singer, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist. Tiran stepped into the mainstream music scene in 2017 with his breakthrough hit single, “Sasala Senehasa”, which earned remarkable international acclaim and airplay on global platforms like the UK BBC and US music charts. Following subsequent successful releases like “Sanda Naari” and “Maga Harunu Pemwathi”, Tiran launched CAN Naada upon moving to Canada. Together, they seamlessly bridge traditional Sri Lankan roots with modern unplugged vibes, crafting a high-end live music experience tailored specifically for Canadian audiences.
